Café Director of Operations – Outreach and Missions Ministry

The Café Director of Operations is responsible to fulfill the vision and mission of The Rock Church, which is to make Jesus Christ known in Squamish. He/she will do this by following and implementing the purpose and mission of our the outreach and missions café, “The Ledge”. This mission is to practice extraordinary hospitality as a means to share Jesus. He/she will fulfill this outreach and missional ministry under the leadership and guidance of the Pastor of Evangelism and Outreach and together, the two will work as a team to manage (plan, organize, lead and control) the various business functions, everyday operations and ministry activities of The Ledge.

Areas of Ministry Direction: The ideal candidate for this position will show key strengths in the following areas:

Leadership :

The Ledge Director will be responsible for:

• Managing (planning, organizing, leading and controlling) the usage and operations of the café and the physical building.
• Creating and maintaining systems which are the framework for administration to keep everything organized and clear.
• Continuously recruiting, training, teaching, and leading volunteers, in as many capacities as knowledgeable in – who are actively seeking involvement in ministry work through The Ledge.

Submission and Accountability:

The Ledge Director must demonstrate a humble spirit and willingness to submit to the overseeing leadership of the Pastor of Evangelism and Discipleship as well as the Lead Pastor of The Rock Church in the following areas:

• Day to day operations
• Finances (day to day management and budgeting)
• Ministry outcomes and direction
• He/she will be in unity with The Rock Church’s statement of faith and have a willingness to enter into a covenantal membership agreement through which he/she is accountable to the elders and the congregation for the work of ministry done through The Ledge.

Job Requirements:

• A mature Christian faith in alignment with Scripture as attested to and affirmed by the elders of The Rock Church.
• Humility and a willingness to submit to church leadership.
• Strong character traits which are necessary for a faithful, loving and biblically sound witness to outsiders on a day to day basis (Evangelism).
• Active involvement and commitment to The Rock Church’s Sunday ministry gathering, Missional Community Groups, financial giving and serving on a Sunday ministry team.

“Bonus competencies and skills”:

• Church Ministry experience
• Theological training or qualification
• Business experience and credentials
• Experience with optimizing the usage of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)
• Knowledge of brand development and ability to oversee and maintain a cohesive visual identity.
