Community Engagement and Partnership Pastor

Southview Church is a large, multi-ethnic, multi-generational church (~2000/weekend) located in Calgary’s deep south, with a passion for leading people to know and follow Jesus. There is a long legacy of seeing people transformed by the life changing news of Jesus and propelled forward on mission – both locally and globally. We are passionate about making disciples in our church, in our community, and around the world. We dream of seeing our people living in unity with one another, growing in their faith, serving & caring for others, and telling the story of who Jesus is wherever God has uniquely positioned them.

We are looking for an experienced Pastor to help build a plan to mobilize and guide the people of Southview Church outside our walls. In reaching, connecting, and living the scatter life. The successful candidate will help scope, develop, and lead the “out” strategy of Southview.

Primary Area of Focus:

  • Build Southview’s Alpha ministry to become of regional hub.
  • Lead our local mission and partnership engagement strategy.
  • Lead our international mission engagement strategy.
  • Develop Southview New Canadians strategy.
  • Implement Southview’s multiplication strategy with the Senior Pastor.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, and empower ministry teams connected to the five primary areas of focus.
  • Team member of the Leadership Team at Southview alongside the Senior Pastor and the Pastors leading IN, OUT, UP, and Operations.

Needed Skills:

  • A proven team builder, and equipper.
  • Strong leadership gifts.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Effective at casting vision.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of ministry experience.
  • Multi staff experience is a benefit.
  • Licensed worker or eligible to be licensed by the Alliance Canada.
  • Undergrad or Master’s Degree in Bible/Theology.
