Job purpose

We are looking for a faithful pastoral intern who has a strong passion for reaching out to the community and help build the English ministry (about 50 members) of a church plant in Vaughan, Ontario.

Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Lead Pastor of VCCC.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To work co-operatively with the Pastoral Staff team, ministering to the VCCC congregations, under the supervision of the Lead Pastor.
  • To develop a promotion plan to reach out to the local English-speaking community re our English Ministry (Launched in March 2023).
  • To participate in preaching, teaching, caring, evangelizing and disciple-making.
  • To start an English Bible Study Group with new members and help disciple them to grow in maturity.
  • To support other staff and contribute in leading other VCCC Purpose-Driven church programs, when required.
  • Attending related ministry meetings i.e. with pastoral staff, English ministry committee, Vaughan ministry church committee, etc. as required.
  • Other ministry responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Pastor.

Qualifications

  • A growing/maturing Christian with a clear vision for evangelism and disciple making to expand God’s Kingdom in Vaughan to glorify Him.
  • Master of Divinity or equivalent education or ministry experience.
  • Language skills: Be able to preach and teach in English. Being fluent or understanding Mandarin or Cantonese is an asset.
  • Culture background: Knowledge and experience in Canadian culture.
  • Leadership skills: Be able to share a clear vision, influence and care for the English Ministry congregation.
  • Interpersonal skills: enjoy working with people of different age groups. Have good communication skills and an approachable personality in a team-based ministry group.
  • Growing/maturing spiritual life and insights in Bible preaching and teaching.
  • Musical gifting in leading worship is an asset.

Working conditions

Regular office hours, evening, and weekend duty.
