We are looking for an independent contractor who is certified to teach in BC for our Langley Community Connections+ grad program location. This is a 0.33 position: one day (Thursday) on site for 30 weeks at Brookswood Baptist Church in Langley, with an additional 0.13 of time built in for prep and assessment.
Community Connections Plus (CC+) are in person learning opportunities that are one full day per week for 30 weeks where students collaborate in a class setting with a home-education flavour with a focus on meaningful and hands-on learning activities. CC+ classes are led by BC certified teachers fully responsible for covering all CC+ course outcomes.
The ideal candidate would be comfortable in teaching:
- English Language Arts or English First Peoples at the grade 11 and 12 level
- Social Studies at the grade 10, 11 or 12
- An elective offering at the high school level.
Competitive Wage: $24,367 – $26,941/year based on 0.33 FTE and depending on experience and certifications
Course assignment is negotiable for the right applicant, the position can also be combined with other posted work opportunities at HCOS.
