We are looking for a faithful pastoral intern who has a strong passion to lead and bring up children in their faith at the RHCCC – Barrie Campus.
Church Background
RHCCC – Barrie Campus is a subsidiary of RHCCC (rhccc.ca), located in the City of Barrie. The congregation number is under 100, composed of mainly Mandarin speaking people with a small group of Cantonese speaking people. In addition, our Young Life Development (YLD) Department composes of the young generation age from 0 to 16, they speak English and Mandarin. Duties and responsibilities
- Report to the Barrie Campus Pastor and support the Barrie Ministry Committee (BMC) to reach out to the community in the City of Barrie and its surrounding areas for evangelism.
- To work closely with the Barrie YLD Team.
- To lead and organize weekly Children Sunday schools and activities.
- To plan, organize and run a summer VBS program for grade school students in July or August in Barrie. To recruit and train the volunteer team for the summer VBS program.
- To be part of the leadership team in leading the Barrie YLD Ministry to be the salt and light in the local community.
Qualifications
- A mature Christian with clear vision and passion to train up youth/children to build solid relationship with God.
- A full-time student in the Master of Divinity or equivalent program and will return to school in the coming September.
- Some ministry experiences in leading/serving the children and youth ministry.
- Language skills: To be able to preach and teach in English. Mandarin or Cantonese speaking is an asset (with parents) but not necessary.
- Leadership skills: To be able to lead well and build a serving team for the summer program.
- Interpersonal skills: to be able to work well with the different ministry teams.
- Good communication skills with co-workers, parents and youngsters; possess approachable personality.
- Mature spiritual life and insights in communicating Bible truth to youngsters.
Working conditions
This is a 4-month summer job starting from May to August 2025. Regular office hours, evenings, and weekends duty.
